OSWAPIC18 Overview
In 2017, 72 percent of hospitals and critical access hospitals surveyed by The Joint Commission were found to be noncompliant with Infection Control (IC) standard 02.02.01 which requires hospitals to reduce the risk of infections associated with medical equipment, devices and supplies. This includes high-level disinfection (HLD) and sterilization processes. The conference will focus on this high-risk area by providing hands-on education and training to prepare Infection Preventionists to round and assess practices and processes in departments performing HLD and sterilization.
